When people ask about IBO Player, they usually start with the app itself — how to install it, which device to use, what it looks like. But the playlist is actually the more important part. The app is just the player. The playlist is what fills it with 51,000 channels, 164,000 movies, and 40,000 series.
This guide is specifically about the playlist: what it is, the two formats it comes in, how to load it correctly into IBO Player, and how to get the most out of it once it is loaded. If you have had trouble with channels not appearing, EPG not showing, or the playlist failing to load — the answers are in here.
The playlist is the heart of any IPTV setup. Get that right and everything else follows. Get it wrong and even the best app in the world will underperform.IBOPlayerPro Editorial, 2026
What Is an IBO Player Playlist?
An IBO Player playlist is the set of credentials that tells the app which channels, movies, and series to load. Without a playlist, IBO Player is an empty frame — the interface is there, but there is nothing to watch.
Your playlist is provided by your IPTV subscription provider after you subscribe. It comes in one of two formats — an M3U URL or Xtream Codes credentials — and is typically sent via WhatsApp within minutes of payment. Once you load those credentials into IBO Player’s Playlist Manager, the app connects to the provider’s servers and downloads the full channel list.
A playlist is not a file you download and keep — it is a live connection. Every time IBO Player opens, it refreshes the playlist from the server, which is how the channel list stays current and how new VOD content is added to your library automatically.
Your subscription = your playlist. The credentials we send via WhatsApp after you order are your playlist. You load them once into IBO Player and the app handles the rest — 51,000 channels, 164,000 movies, and 40,000 series appear automatically.
M3U vs Xtream Codes — Which Format?
There are two formats a playlist can come in. Both work with IBO Player — the difference is in how they structure the content and how fast the EPG loads.
A single web link ending in .m3u or .m3u8. Paste it into IBO Player’s M3U URL field and all channels load from that one address.
- Simple to enter — one field only
- Works on all devices and apps
- EPG loading can be slower on large playlists
- Live TV, movies, and series in one combined list
Three pieces of information: a server address, a username, and a password. Enter all three into IBO Player’s Xtream Codes fields.
- Faster EPG loading and refresh
- Live TV, VOD, and Series in separate sections
- Better structure for large 50,000+ channel packages
- Recommended for the full 51,000 channel playlist
| Feature | M3U URL | Xtream Codes |
|---|---|---|
| Setup complexity | One field | Three fields |
| EPG loading speed | Slower | Faster |
| VOD / Series sections | Combined | Separate tabs |
| Large playlist (50K+) | Works | Recommended |
| Compatibility | Universal | All major apps |
Our recommendation: Use Xtream Codes for the full 51,000 channel playlist. The EPG loads faster, and having live channels, 164,000 movies, and 40,000 series in separate organised sections makes navigation significantly more manageable.
How to Add a Playlist in IBO Player
The process is identical on Fire Stick, Android TV, Android TV Box, and Android phone. From the moment you have your credentials to channels loading, it takes 2–5 minutes.
Adding via Xtream Codes (recommended)
From the IBO Player home screen, navigate to Playlist Manager (sometimes listed as Playlists or My Playlists depending on the version). Tap Add Playlist or the + icon.
You will see options for M3U URL and Xtream Codes. Select Xtream Codes. Three input fields appear: Server URL, Username, and Password.
Copy your server address, username and password from your WhatsApp message. Enter each into the correct field. Common mistakes: adding a space at the start or end, confusing the number 0 with letter O, or capital I with the number 1.
Give the playlist a clear name such as “UK Channels” or “IBOPlayerPro”. Tap Save. IBO Player connects to the server and begins loading the full channel list automatically.
Loading 51,000 channels plus the VOD catalogue takes 2–5 minutes on first load. Do not close the app or navigate away during this process. Subsequent loads are much faster as the app caches the channel list.
Adding via M3U URL
In Playlist Manager, tap Add Playlist and select M3U URL. A single URL input field appears.
Copy the full URL from your WhatsApp message (it begins with http:// or https:// and ends in .m3u or .m3u8). Paste it into the field without any spaces. Name the playlist and tap Save.
Tip for Fire Stick users: Entering long credentials with the Fire Stick remote is slow. Connect a Bluetooth keyboard, or use the Downloader app to open a browser and copy-paste credentials from your WhatsApp web session.
Need Your Playlist Credentials?

Setting Up the 14-Day EPG Guide
The EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) is separate from the channel list — it provides the programme schedule that appears alongside each channel. Without it, you can still watch live channels, but you cannot see what is on, what comes next, or plan around sports events.
From the main menu, go to Settings. Depending on your version, EPG is listed as EPG Manager, EPG Settings, or Electronic Programme Guide.
Your EPG URL is sent with your subscription credentials via WhatsApp. It begins with http:// and ends with .xml or .gz. Paste it exactly into the EPG URL field.
Set the EPG refresh to Daily (every 24 hours). This keeps your programme guide current without placing unnecessary load on the connection or provider server.
Tap Save and allow 2–5 minutes for the EPG data to download. Once loaded, programme titles and schedules appear in the channel guide for all channels with available EPG data.
EPG coverage: Full 14-day EPG is available for UK free-to-air, entertainment, news, and children’s channels. Sports channels have partial EPG — main match schedules appear but not every stream. Regional and specialist channels may have limited data.
Organising Your Playlist — Favourites and Groups
With 51,000 channels in the playlist, navigation without organisation becomes impractical. IBO Player provides two tools that transform the experience: Favourites and Group management.
Setting up Favourites
Long-press any channel in the list and select Add to Favourites. Your Favourites appear at the top of the channel list — typically the 20–30 channels you actually watch regularly. This gives you one-tap access to BBC One, your sports channels, children’s programming, or whatever you watch most, without touching the full 51,000 channel list.
Managing channel groups
In IBO Player’s Playlist Manager settings, you can hide entire channel groups you never use. If you never watch French channels, Turkish drama, or South Asian content, hiding those groups reduces the visible list dramatically and speeds up the channel switching response. The channels remain in the playlist — you are just filtering what is visible.
Using search
IBO Player’s built-in search function finds any channel by name in seconds. For a one-off channel you do not have in Favourites, typing the first three letters of its name is faster than browsing any category list. It also works for VOD search across the full 164,000 movie library.
Playlist Not Loading — Common Fixes
Most playlist loading failures have one of five causes. Work through these in order:
- Typo in the credentials. The most common cause by far. Compare every character of your entered credentials against the WhatsApp message. Pay particular attention to 0 vs O, 1 vs I vs l, and capital vs lowercase letters in the password.
- Subscription expired. If your plan has ended, the server rejects the credentials. Check your subscription end date and renew via WhatsApp if needed.
- Internet connection issue during loading. Loading 51,000 channels requires a sustained connection. If your connection dropped during the initial load, delete the playlist and try again on a stable connection — Ethernet is ideal for large playlists.
- Too many simultaneous connections. Standard single-connection subscriptions reject a second device trying to stream at the same time. If someone else in the household is already watching, this will cause the playlist to appear to fail.
- App needs updating. An outdated version of IBO Player may have compatibility issues with newer playlist formats. Check for updates in the Play Store or re-download the APK.
If none of these work: Message us on WhatsApp with your username and the error message you see. We can check the account status and re-issue credentials within minutes if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
QWhat is an IBO Player playlist and where do I get one?
An IBO Player playlist is the credentials (M3U URL or Xtream Codes) that connect the app to your channel content. You get it from your IPTV subscription provider — after ordering via WhatsApp below, your playlist credentials are sent within minutes. You then load them into IBO Player’s Playlist Manager to access 51,000 channels, 164,000 movies, and 40,000 series.
QWhat is the difference between M3U and Xtream Codes?
M3U is a single URL that loads your channel list. Xtream Codes uses a server address, username, and password, and provides faster EPG loading with live TV, movies, and series in separate organised sections. For a playlist with 51,000 channels, Xtream Codes is recommended — the structure makes navigation much more manageable.
QHow long does it take to load a 51,000 channel playlist?
The first load takes 2–5 minutes depending on your connection speed. After the initial load, IBO Player caches the channel list so subsequent loads are much faster — typically under 30 seconds. Do not close the app during the first load.
QWhy is my playlist not loading?
The most common causes are: a typo in the credentials (check 0 vs O and 1 vs I), an expired subscription, a connection drop during loading, or multiple devices trying to stream simultaneously on a single-connection plan. Delete the playlist from Playlist Manager, re-enter credentials carefully, and try again. If it still fails, send us your username via WhatsApp and we will check the account immediately.
QCan I add multiple playlists in IBO Player?
Yes — IBO Player Pro supports unlimited playlists. You can switch between them from the Playlist Manager. The free version of IBO Player limits you to one playlist. If you are using a full 51,000 channel package, Pro activation is recommended anyway for the full EPG and VOD support.
QDoes the playlist include movies and series or just live channels?
The subscription includes all three: 51,000 live channels, 164,000 movies, and 40,000 series — all from the same set of Xtream Codes credentials. In IBO Player, these appear in separate sections: Channels for live TV, VOD for movies, and Series for TV shows.
QHow do I renew my playlist when it expires?
Message us on WhatsApp to renew. You receive a new set of credentials for the chosen plan. Delete the old playlist in IBO Player’s Playlist Manager, add the new credentials, and your access continues immediately. Your Favourites and settings are preserved.
Your Playlist — The Key to Everything
Everything in an IBO Player setup depends on the playlist. The right credentials, entered correctly, unlock 51,000 live channels, 164,000 movies, and 40,000 series in one go. The wrong credentials — or even a single typo — result in nothing loading at all. That is why getting the playlist right from the start matters.
The setup process itself is straightforward: receive credentials via WhatsApp, open IBO Player Playlist Manager, enter Xtream Codes, wait 2–5 minutes, add your EPG URL, set up Favourites. From that point, navigating one of the largest IPTV libraries available in the UK becomes practical and fast.
The 1-month plan at £15 gives you the complete 51,000 channel playlist with no commitment. The 12-month plan at £49.99 (£4.17/month) is the obvious choice once you have confirmed the quality. Credentials arrive on WhatsApp within minutes of ordering.
